Communicating One Bit over a Delay Constrained Gaussian MIMO Channel with Feedback

چکیده
The energy-optimal scheme is found for communicating one bit over a memoryless Gaussian channel with an ideal feedback channel. It is assumed that the channel is allowed to be used at most N times before decoding. The optimal coding/decoding strategy is derived by dynamic programming. It is found that feedback gives a significant performance gain and that the optimal strategies are discontinuous. It is also shown that most of the performance increase can be obtained even with a one-bit feedback channel. The optimal scheme is compared with the strategy by Kailath-Schalkwijk and is found to be significantly more effective. For the case of a diagonal MIMO channel where measurement noise variances are equal along the sub channels we also show that the problem can be reduced to the previous case of transmitting one bit over a scalar feedback channel. 1

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)
In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...
متن کاملAnalysis of Codebook Based Channel Feedback Techniques for MIMO-OFDM Systems
This paper investigates the performance of MultipleInput Multiple-Output (MIMO) feedback system combined with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). Two types of codebook based channel feedback techniques are used in this work. The first feedback technique uses a combination of both the long-term and short-term channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter, whereas the second t...
متن کاملFeedback Stabilization over Signal-to-Noise Ratio Constrained Channels∗
There has recently been significant interest in feedback stabilization problems over communication channels, including several with bit rate limited feedback. Motivated by considering one source of such bit rate limits, we study the problem of stabilization over a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) constrained channel. We discuss both continuous and discrete time cases, and show that for either state ...
متن کاملLimited Feedback in Single and Multi-user MIMO Systems with Finite-Bit ADCs
Communication systems with low-resolution analog-to-digital-converters (ADCs) can exploit channel state information at the transmitter and receiver. This paper presents codebook designs and performance analyses for limited feedback MIMO systems with finite-bit ADCs. A point-to-point single-user channel is firstly considered. When the received signal is sliced by 1-bit ADCs, the absolute phase a...
متن کاملQuantized vs. Analog Feedback for the MIMO Downlink: A Comparison between Zero-Forcing Based Achievable Rates
We consider a MIMO fading broadcast channel and compare the achievable ergodic rates when the channel state information at the transmitter is provided by “analog” noisy feedback or by quantized (digital) feedback. The superiority of digital feedback is shown, with perfect or imperfect CSIR, whenever the number of feedback channel uses per channel coefficient is larger than 1. Also, we show that...
